In order to prepare your bicycle for transport in the best possible conditions, be sure to: - take off the pedals, - remove the front wheel and attach it to the frame, - attach the handlebars to the side (parallel to the frame), - place your bicycle in protective packaging (cardboard, high-resistance plastic). Appropriate boxes are on sale at most Air France check-in counters.

- Ski equipment
- Downhill skiing: 1 pair of skis, one pair of ski poles, 1 pair of boots. - Snowboard: 1 board and 1 pair of boots. - Water skiing: skis only.
You are advised to package the skis and boards in a special casing.
- Sailboards / Surfboards
The sum of all three dimensions of your sailboard must measure less than 3 meters. Boards must be protected by adequate packaging.Air France does not offer casings or pre-formatted cardboard for transporting sailboards.
Transportation conditions for these articles depend on the baggage allowance for your destination. |

Allowance by weight
On all flights subject to a weight allowance, Air France and KLM offer you a rate for transporting your sports equipment.
- Golf bags, diving equipment, skis or snowboard
Sports equipment is included in the weight allowance.
Over and above the allowance, and within a 20 kg limit per item, a flat fee is charged per trip each way:
- for destinations in zone 1: €10 - for destinations in zone 2: €20 - for destinations in zone 3: €30 - for destinations in zone 4: €40
- Bicycles, surfboards, windsurf boards or kitesurf boards
Sports equipment is not included in the weight allowance.
A flat fee within a 20 kg limit is charged per trip each way:
- for destinations in zone 1: €20 - for destinations in zone 2: €40 - for destinations in zone 3: €60 - for destinations in zone 4: €80
Notes:
- These one-way rates are valid on flights operated by AIR FRANCE and KLM, as well as Kenya Airways and Martinair. - If the item is heavier than 20 kg, you must pay for each additional kilo at the standard rate for exceeding the baggage allowance. - These permits are nominative, and can be bought up to the day of departure.

Allowance by number of baggage items
The following sports equipment will be accepted as part of your baggage allowance:
- Ski/snowboard equipment: for any equipment in excess of 2 baggage items allowed, the fee is €50 per item.
- Golf bags: for any equipment in excess of the 2 baggage items allowed, the fee is €75 per item.
- Diving equipment: for any equipment in excess of the 2 baggage items allowed, the fee is €150 per item.
The following sports equipment will not be accepted as part of your baggage allowance:
- Bicycles, surfboards, windsurfs:
you will be charged a fee of €150 to check any of these items.
