Unaccompanied children
Are your children traveling alone? Don´t worry! Air France personnel welcome and accompany your children at each step of their trip. On board, children enjoy special care from Air France personnel and receive games and gifts to ensure an enjoyable flight. Upon arrival, children are escorted to the person designated to meet them. If there is a transfer, children are accompanied to their new boarding gate. With Planète Bleue, children travel in complete safety...so parents can rest easy!

Are your children traveling alone? Now it´s even easier to plan their trip by reserving tickets online with Air France.
Visit the Book online/Flight Status section of our site and select the "Unaccompanied minors" page. This service is available for all Air France flights.

Even better, if your children are traveling within France or between metropolitan France and overseas territories, simply complete the form below before coming to the airport.
Complete this form in advance to save time and avoid stress at check-in!
 
Conditions for traveling alone
Children can travel alone:
  • from the age of 4 on domestic flights within Continental and Overseas France,
  • from the age of 5 on international flights.
Indicate that your child will be traveling unaccompanied when making your reservation. At check-in, children will receive a badge that enables us to easily identify them at all times. They will be welcomed and accompanied for the duration of their trip.
 
Children aged 4 to 11
  • From December 1, 2008, unaccompanied minors benefit from reduced fares – up to 50% for flights within France, as well as between France and its overseas departments and territories.
    These fares are not applicable on international flights.
  • Accompaniment service is offered, no matter your child´s destination.

Before traveling
  • Your children must have all the documents required by applicable legislation and regulations, including valid photo identification and, if necessary, exit visa, entry visa and vaccination certificate.
  • Plan for your children to check in at least 30 minutes prior to the check-in deadline for their flight.
  • Be certain that the aircraft has departed before leaving the airport.
  • The person responsible for meeting your children upon arrival must be at the airport at the scheduled landing time with a piece of identification.
  • On all flights over 2.5 hours, a meal adapted to their tastes and needs is provided. Remember to order the children´s meal when reserving or purchasing your tickets, at least 24 hours prior to departure. Children aged 9 years and older can choose to be served "just like adults" or stick with the Planète Bleue menu.
On board
On all our flights, children have access to games, films, radio programs and gifts to make their flight more enjoyable.

During transfers and upon arrival
Your children are escorted during transfers. They are welcome to relax and entertain themselves with books, games, DVDs and more in the Planète Bleue areas in Paris-Orly and Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
Upon arrival, they are escorted to the person you designated at their destination.
 
For children aged 12 to 17
The accompaniment service is also available on request for young people between 12 and 17 years of age who are traveling alone. A fee will be charged for this optional services, which is offered on Air France flights conducted on Air France aircraft as well as on franchised flights.
Air France personnel look after young passengers from check-in through to arrival, where they are met by the person you designated.
A reassuring service, especially during transfers in large airports!
They are also welcome to watch TV and DVDs or play video games (Playstation) in the Planète Bleue areas in Paris-Orly and Paris-Charles de Gaulle. On long-haul flights, the Géo Ado magazine is provided free of charge.
